Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can troubleshoot user issues and keep a digital workplace running smoothly? Our client, located in Gosselies, Wallonia, Belgium, is seeking a skilled Service Desk Engineer to join their growing team.
This role offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to work remotely while also collaborating with colleagues on-site at least 3 days per week. Occasional additional on-site days may be required, so please note that the Gosselies location has limited public transportation options. Having a valid driver’s license and a vehicle is preferred for commuting and potentially traveling to other sites in Wallonia.
In this Service Desk Engineer role, you will be the hero for over 2,000 Digital Workplace users! You’ll be the first line of defense, troubleshooting incidents and requests related to Windows 10 workstations and applications. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential as you diagnose issues, implement solutions, and ensure user satisfaction. Collaboration is key, and you’ll work closely with other teams to ensure a seamless IT experience for everyone.
Here’s a closer look at what you’ll be doing as a Service Desk Engineer:
- Providing top-notch technical support to Digital Workplace users using Windows 10.
- Serving as the go-to person for user inquiries, incidents, and requests.
- Escalating complex issues to the appropriate support team when needed.
- Equipping new users by preparing, delivering, and configuring their workstations.
- Guiding users through the onboarding process with their workstation setup.
- Installing and uninstalling software to meet user needs.
- Coordinating with other teams for moves, cabling, and equipment removal.
- Managing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accurate asset tracking.
- Documenting procedures and instructions to maintain clear and up-to-date information.
- Identifying and analyzing recurring incidents to propose solutions or escalate problems for further action.
To be successful, you’ll need to be a technical whiz with a user-friendly touch. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Service Desk Engineer Must-have skills:
- Proficiency in deployment/packaging tools (Intune)
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10
- French fluency (CEFR level C2)
- Proven experience in staging/imaging and deploying desktops and laptops
- Extensive experience in digital workplace support (over 5 years)
- Experience in level 1 and 2 user support
- Experience supporting a similar business environment with over 2,000 users
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Nice-to-have skills:
- English proficiency (CEFR level B1)
